Hawai‘i County Council-57 October 3, 2012 Res. 300-12: AUTHORIZES THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A LATER FISCAL YEAR AND OF MORE THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR FOR A MULTI-YEAR LEASE FOR TWO MULTI-FUNCTION COPIERS FOR THE FINANCE DEPARTMENT Authorizes the Mayor to enter into a five-year lease agreement for two multi-function copiers for the Finance Department (one copier will be located at the Real Property Tax Division office in Hilo and the other copier will be located at their office in the West Hawai‘i Civic Center). Re: Comm. 836 Intr. by: Ms. Ford (B/R) Approve: FC-261 Res. 303-12: URGES THE 2013 HAWAI‘I STATE LEGISLATURE TO REPEAL CHAPTER 171C OF THE HAWAI‘I REVISED STATUTES (HRS) TO EFFECTIVELY ABOLISH THE PUBLIC LAND DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION HRS 171C-4, subsection (a), in part, defines the powers of the Public Land Development Corporation, and HRS 171C-4, subsection (c) reads “(c) The powers conferred herein shall be liberally construed to effectuate the purposes of this chapter”. This resolution states that the people of the County of Hawai‘i realizes the detrimental effect this would have on our land, ocean, environment, and the avoidance of many of our zoning and subdivision laws, which HRS 171C may ignore, and that the people of this County have requested assistance from the Council of the County of Hawai‘i to support the repeal of HRS 171C. Re: Comm. 843 Intr. by: Ms. Ford Approve: PC-65 Res. 306-12: STRONGLY URGES THE COUNTY CLERK TO HIRE AN INDEPENDENT AND EXPERIENCED ELECTIONS ADMINISTRATOR TO RUN THE 2012 HAWAI‘I COUNTY GENERAL ELECTION States that the Hawai‘i County Clerk hire an independent and experienced elections administrator who has five to 15 years of supervisory experience in elections administration, and that the election administrator be hired within seven business days from the adoption of this resolution.
