Reference: Comm. 354 Intr. by: Ms. Poindexter Approve: FC-80 Res. 152-13: REQUESTS THAT THE HAWAI‘I STATE ASSOCIATION OF COUNTIES (HSAC) INCLUDE IN ITS 2014 LEGISLATIVE PACKAGE A BILL FOR THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAI‘I TO INCREASE THE AMOUNT OF THE COUNTIES’ SHARE OF THE TRANSIENT ACCOMMODATION TAX (TAT) Requests HSAC to include in its 2014 Legislative Package a bill proposing an increase to the amount on the counties’ share of the TAT to $186,000,000 and would be distributed to the counties as follows: Kaua‘i-14.5%, Hawai‘i-18.6%, City and County of Honolulu-44.1%, and Maui-22.8%. PISCES was established to provide opportunities to expand and diversify technology-based enterprises and education statewide and to advance the national space program by leveraging Hawai‘i’s assets and capabilities in space exploration.
