Hawaii County Council -13 Page 4 April 20, 2011 Res. 54 -11: AUTHORIZES THE OFFICE OF THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF HAWAII DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION, PURSUANT TO HRS 46 -7, FOR A DISTRACTED DRIVING PROJECT GRANT FOR THE HAWAII COUNTY POLICE DEPARTMENT Executes an agreement with the State of Hawaii Department of Transportation to enable the County to execute the Distracted Driving Project (the goal of this project is to reduce the number of drivers using an electronic mobile device while driving by having additional checkpoints, issuing citations for non - compliance, and by conducing a media campaign and/or by sending educational letters to registered vehicle owners regarding this matter). Re: Comm. 149 Intr. by: Ms. Ford (B /R) Approve: FC -43 Res. 55 -11: AUTHORIZES THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A LATER FISCAL YEAR AND OF MORE THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR FOR A MULTI -YEAR LEASE FOR ONE COPIER FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION The copier will be located at the Parks and Recreation Department's Kona Coordinated Services for the Elderly and shall be leased for a period of five years at a cost not to exceed $500 per month (plus an amount not to exceed $0.03 for each black and white copy and $0.08 per color copy).
