Hawai‘i County Council-24 August 3, 2011 ORDER OF THE DAY (SECOND OR FINAL READING) Bill 62 (Draft 2): AMENDS CHAPTER 25, ARTICLE 2, DIVISION 4, SECTION 25-2-46 OF THE HAWAI‘I COUNTY CODE 1983 (2005 EDITION, AS AMENDED), RELATING TO ADDITION OF CIVIL DEFENSE SIRENS TO CONCURRENCY REQUIREMENTS Creates concurrency standards for civil defense sirens (requires that an area be adequately serviced by civil defense sirens as part of the processing of any zoning amendment on an application for extension of time to perform a condition of zoning amendment, and would apply to certain types of applications, which are stated in the bill). Re: Comm. 235.2 Intr. by: Mr. Hoffmann First Reading: July 22, 2011 Bill 64: TERMINATES IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT (ID) NO. 17, CANCELLATION OF ASSESSMENT INSTALLMENTS, AND DISTRIBUTION OF REFUNDS FOR COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NO. 17 (KALOKO SUBDIVISION) Pursuant to Hawai‘i County Code, Section 12-28.1, the Finance Director has determined that all outstanding or anticipated debts or obligations of the ID have been paid or can be satisfied with the assessments paid to-date. Authorizes the Finance Director to terminate the ID and to provide for the disposition of cash remaining in the ID Assessment Fund upon its termination and close the ID Assessment Fund. Re: Comm. 249 Intr. by: Ms. Ford First Reading: July 22, 2011 REPORTS FC-78 (Comm. 260): Donated by the Hawai‘i State Volunteer Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD), recommends the acceptance of 140 Coleman Oasis tents to be utilized by the Fire Department, Public Works Department, and Parks and Recreation Department to provide logistical support during emergencies (total estimated value of $35,000).
