PUBLIC FACILITIES -Protective Services 1. Page 10-11, 10.3.1 Introduction And Analysis: "Fire and Emergency Medical Services There are presently [ 14] 20 regular fire stations, [ 18] 22 volunteer fire stations and [2] 1 federal fire [stations] station located throughout the island. The County is proposine a fire station in the Kalaoa-Mauka area. The [Kilauea Militazy Camp (KMC) and] Pohakuloa fire [stations are] station is a federally operated [facilities] facility. [KMC provides emergency medical services under an agreement with the County.] The regular fire stations [and three of the volunteer stations (Laupahoehoe, Pahala, Naalehu)] provide 24-hour fire fighting and emergency medical services. The Waiakea and Kailua-Kona stations provide rescue services, the Kaumana [and South Kohala stations provide] station provides hazardous [waste] materials response and the South Kohala station provides air medical services."
