Hawai‘i County Council-11 May 3, 2017 Bill 23: AMENDS ORDINANCE NO. 16-72, AS AMENDED, THE OPERATING BUDGET FOR THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING JUNE 30, 2017 Appropriates revenues in the Fund Balance Reserved for Liquor Control account ($20,000); and appropriates $10,000 to the Public Programs account, and $10,000 to the Travel/Conferences account. Funds would be used to provide airfare for trainers and materials for the Being Respectful and Valuing Everybody program and for travel expenses for three staff members and two liquor commissioners to attend the 2018 National Conference of State Liquor Administrators in Denver, Colorado. Funds would be used to provide a grant to Catholic Charities of Hawai‘i for its West Hawai‘i Faith-Based Summit to end homelessness. Reference: Comm. 195 Intr. by: Ms. David (B/R) First Reading: April 19, 2017 Bill 28: AMENDS ORDINANCE NO. 16-72, AS AMENDED, THE OPERATING BUDGET FOR THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING JUNE 30, 2017, RELATING TO THE TRANSFER OF FUNDS TO THE PUBLIC ACCESS, OPEN SPACE, AND NATURAL RESOURCES PRESERVATION FUND Increases revenues in the Real Property Tax Interest account ($85,500); and appropriates $76,000 to the Transfer to Public Access/Open Space Preservation Fund account, and $9,500 to the Transfer to Public Access/Open Space Preservation Maintenance Fund account. Real property tax interest revenues are expected to exceed the amount budgeted for FY 2016-17, requiring additional funds be transferred into the Public Access, Open Space, and Natural Resources Preservation (PONC) Fund and PONC Maintenance accounts in order to maintain compliance with County Charter mandated minimal appropriations to each fund.
