FC-15 Page 2 July 9, 2007 Comm. 496: FINANCIAL AUDIT REPORT FOR FISCAL YEAR ENDING JUNE 30 2006 From Legislative Auditor Colleen Schrandt, dated June 27, 2007, submitting the post-audit Financial Audit Report of the County of Hawai` i for the Fiscal Year Ended June 30, 2006, and Management Letter dated April 27, 2007, as prepared by KPMG LLP, which satisfies the requirement of Section 10-13 of the Hawaii County Charter, relating to the responsibility of the County Council to conduct an annual independent audit of the accounts and other evidences of financial transactions of the County and of every County agency and executive agency. This year's Management Letter contains findings and recommendations related to Collection of Receivables, and monitoring of Backup Media. Comm. 497: RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE OFFICE OF THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO (Res. 245-07) AN AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF HAWAII DEPARTMENT OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL, PURSUANT TO HRS 46-7, FOR A SECURE DIGITAL FORENSIC IMAGING GRANT FOR THE HAWAII COUNTY POLICE DEPARTMENT• and (Bill 117) AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 07-82, AS AMENDED, THE OPERATING BUDGET FOR THE COUNTY OF HAWAII FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING JUNE 30, 2008 (appropriates a $31,790 Secure Digital Forensic Imaging Grant) From Finance Director William Takaba, dated June 26, 2007, transmitting the above resolution and bill. The State of Hawaii Department of the Attorney General's Crime Prevention and Justice Assistance Division has authorized the above grant. The purpose of the grant is to improve the department's ability to respond to violent crimes against women and to improve forensic examination services provided to female victims of violent crimes island wide. Comm. 498: TWO MONETARY DONATIONS TOTALING $887.81 FOR THE PANA`EWA RECREATIONAL CENTER; 1) $781.81 BY THE BIG ISLAND AUTO CLUB; AND 2) $106 BY KAMEHAMEHA SCHOOLS HAWAII -ASKS (to be used towards the replacement of items and the repairs/reconstruction and cleanup of the center) From Finance Director William Takaba, dated June 25, 2007, requesting the Council's approval of the above donations. Comm. 499: RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ABANDONMENT AND SALE OF PAPER (Res. 246-07) ROADS ABUTTING TAX MAP KEYS (3)4-1-004:041 AND (3)4-1-004:042 AS REMNANT PARCELS (to Kenneth and Jennifer Grace, abutting land owners) From Finance Director William Takaba, dated June 25, 2007, transmitting the above resolution. An independent appraiser has determined that the fair market values are $25,000 for roadway PR-41, consisting of 19,919 square feet; and $34,000 for the roadway PR-42, consisting of 28,955 square feet.
