SAYRE MEMORIAL FUND TO THE HAWAII FIRE DEPARTMENT From Finance Director William Takaba, dated June 25, 2007, transmitting the above resolution. The funds are designated to purchase new flight helmets, equipped with communication devices, for the pilots of the rescue helicopter based at the Waiakea Station and the pilots of the rescue/aeromedical helicopter pilots based at the South Kohala Station. Comm. 501: RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE OFFICE OF THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO (Res. 248-07) AN AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF HAWAII DEPARTMENT OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL, PURSUANT TO HRS 46-7, FOR A CELL PHONE/PDA VIOLENCE GRANT FOR THE HAWAII COUNTY POLICE DEPARTMENT• and (Bill 118) AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 07-82, AS AMENDED, THE OPERATING BUDGET FOR THE COUNTY OF HAWAII FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING JUNE 30, 2008 (bv appropriating a $30,000 Cell Phone/PDA Violence Grantl From Finance Director William Takaba, dated June 26, 2007, transmitting the above resolution and bill. The State of Hawaii Department of the Attorney General's Crime Prevention and Justice Assistance Division has authorized the above grant. The purpose of the grant is to improve the department's ability to collect evidence from wireless communication devices in order to respond appropriately to violent sex crimes, domestic violence crimes, homicides and assaults against women. Comm. 502: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 07-93, AS AMENDED, (Bill 119) RELATING TO PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS AND FINANCING THEREOF FOR THE FISCAL YEAR JULY 1, 2007 TO JUNE 30, 2008 (by appropriating the fifth and final increment of the fuel tax increase, established by Resolution Nos. 192-97 and 241-97, in the amount $7.2 million From Finance Director William Takaba, dated June 26, 2007, transmitting the above bill. Projected revenues are being allocated utilizing the same distribution method as Increment 4 (based on each district's percent of miles of local streets), except that road mileage calculations now account for all roads maintained by the County. Previously, calculation excluded Federal Highways Administration (FHWA) roads as FWHA funds were used for those. The specific projects are listed on Exhibit A of the bill.
